The Nokia 6680 is based on Symbian OS v8.0 (Series 60 v2.6) and is an extremely stylish and powerful smartphone that contains crucial mobile office features. With two integrated digital cameras (1.3 megapixels and VGA) and 3G wideband connectivity, users can conduct face-to-face video calls with clients and colleagues from your phone. The Nokia 6680 imaging smartphone also has video sharing capabilities, so you can share and view video clips in the middle of a call. Plus emails can be sent and received direct from the handset, attached files viewed on the high-resolution, 262,144-color display.
The 6680 offers a similiar set of features as the 6630, including the fastest CPU clock of all Symbian OS phones (220 MHz) and rich software bundle. Like 6630, the 6680 is a quad-band phone supporting tri-band GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz and WCDMA 2100 MHz. Internet connectivity options include HSCSD, GPRS, EDGE (up to 115 kbps) and obviously 3G UMTS (up to 384 kbps).
In my humble opinion, Nokia 6680 is the best looking Series 60 smartphone ever made. Packed with everything you could dream of, it is still very small and light (133 g, 108.4 x 55.2 x 20.5 mm; 104 cc). The casing is of very good quality and the silver elements make it look very stylish. The back side camera is hidden under a slide-down cover for camera protection, activation, and control - just slide it down to automatically launch the Camera applications for instant image or video capture. The keypad has a traditional layout and is of very good quality providing excellent tactile feedback.
The 6680 incorporates 10 MB of internal storage memory, which can be further expanded using RS MMC (Reduced Size) memory cards. The phone comes with a 64 MB card containing valuable and useful software, including Adobe Reader, LifeBlog client, Movie Director, Photo Editor, Push To Talk, QuickOffice viewers, XPressPrint, Settings Wizard, Kodak Mobile client, games and more.
The 6680 is a very fast phone. Thanks to the 220 MHz processor, the user interface and all functions of the device work instantly. The same applies to Internet connections if you're happy enough to use EDGE or 3G enabled cellular network. Browsing web pages and downloading files is now a pleasure. The quality of pictures taken with the 1.3 Megapixel camera is very good, probably the best of all existing Symbian OS powered smartphones. Pictures are sharp and lack any serious distortions.
Nokia 6680 is a stereo phone and it comes bundled with a stereo headset. The built-in music player supports MP3 and AAC file formats.
